We were in a tough spot. The Long Beach home we rented and deeply loved for 12 years was suddenly sold and I was allowed 60 days to pack up and find a new home and schools for our family. I was devastated, and certain we’d have to leave California to find a home I could afford. Finally, I called Melissa for her real estate acumen and any glimmer of hope. She asked me all the right questions to help me determine my options and realize the potential here. After careful consideration, I decided to go for it, become a first time home buyer - in California, no less! With less than 45 days to go, I asked Melissa to be my realtor. We must’ve seen more than 30 homes, all of which were 80-90 miles away, in the San Bernardino mountains. I never felt rushed. It was a community of interests, as if Melissa was buying the house with me. She offered objective insights to each property and always kept my criteria on the dashboard - even when I was swept away by glorious bells and whistles. Most notably, she offered to do FaceTime walkthroughs on a few homes that I was interested in but couldn’t get to, while she was in the area with her family, on vacation at their mountain home - still almost an hour away. I was, and am, overwhelmed by her generosity and empathy. She made the whole process exciting and fun, instead of stressful and scary.
When we narrowed our search, Melissa’s attention to detail and negotiating skills shined. Inspections were thorough and her due diligence, follow up and insight helped me make tough decisions. Ultimately, her skill set, devotion, and tenacity, led us to a home and property that offered everything we searched for and so much more. Even then, she made sure it was inspected from stem to stern, negotiations were fair and repairs were completed as needed. We closed in time to move straight into our new home in Twin Peaks, and we could not have done it without Melissa. You might say she moved mountains to find us one to call home.
